It all started in 1840, when a ship transporting champagne bottles of Veuve Clicquot abord sank south of the Åland archipelago. In 2010, following the discovery of those bottles, the Maison created an ambitious oenological experiment: Cellar In The Sea. For the very first time, the Maison invites you to join this intimate Clicquot moment through a Solaire journey.

Chapter 1, Reims
Enter the private world of Veuve Clicquot during an extraordinary day in Reims, from the Verzy Garden to the Hôtel du Marc, passing through our historic Chalk Cellars. You will taste our rarest vintage guided by Didier Mariotti, Cellar Master of the House

Chapter 2, Silverskår Island
Off to Silverskår island! You will board the historic Albanus schooner and sail to the island on which the sun never sets. Get ready to celebrate the Midsommar festival in an outstanding decor.

Chapter 3, The Moment Of Truth
Veuve Clicquot’s cellar master, Didier Mariotti, will initiate you into the art of tasting and explore with you some of the House’s rarest vintages. Some of the finest starred chefs of the region will serve up dishes inspired by local gastronomy.

Chapter 4, Meet the divers
You will be invited to meet the diver – a real treasure-hunter – who discovered the wreck in 2010. Experienced divers among you will be able to descend with him into the depths to see the incredible “Åland Vault,” where the precious bottles are submerged.
