CAVE PRIVÉE 1990

For climate, it is with 1989 that 1990 shows the most similarities. After a mild wet winter, the buds opened almost one month early. This exposed the vineyard to spring frosts which occurred in two waves and affected nearly 12,000 hectares of vines.
Intro

The 1990 Vintage is a blend of 17 different Crus, all classified as Grands and Premiers Crus.

Black grapes make up two thirds of the blend: 56% Pinot noir, from the Montagne de Reims and the Grande Vallée de la Marne, and 11% Meunier, from the Premiers Crus in the west of the Montagne de Reims.

The blend is completed with 33% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and, to a lesser extent, from the Montagne de Reims.

Contains sulphites.

Tasting notes

On the palate, the very clean attack quickly gives place to structure and concentration. This vinosity is perfectly set off by a superb dynamism. Aromas of liqueur and candied citrus fruit give the wine a lovely freshness. The finish is ample and very long.
